It's no surprise that Jaye's love of sports, fitness healthy living,
and motivating others led her to a career as a professional Certified
Fitness Trainer.
"I have one of the best jobs in the world. I am fortunate
every day to have the opportunity to use my talents and passions
to help others. Although I might inspire my clients, they are the
real inspiration. When they thank me for helping them meet their
goals, I remind them that they did all the work. They push on when
I ask them to squeak out another rep. They don't give up when I
ask them to put more intensity into a cardio session. They overcome
their most challenging personal obstacles. I am merely a guide.
They deserve all of the credit.
Personally I have a good reason to take my health seriously. Heart
disease runs in my family. I have witnessed the effects of a poor
lifestyle on the body. Four of my uncles and one grandfather died
of heart disease. They did not take care of themselves . My mother
and her mother died of aortic aneusrisms during the same year. My
genetic inheritance means that I have to be extra diligent with
my lifestyle. I was given one body. I believe it is my duty to do
my very best to take care of it." says Jaye.
Jaye has been a fitness trainer since 1999, working with satisfied
clients form all walks of life, ages 20-65. She has been a runner
since age ten and played competitive sports through all her years
of school. She began weight training twenty-one years ago while
conditioning her body for combat readiness in the US Army. Today,
Jaye's sports of choice are weight training, running, mountain biking,
and snow boarding.
Jaye is certified by the International Sports Science Association
(ISSA), one of the most reputable organizations in the nation to certify professional fitness trainers
Jaye is the owner of Fun Fitness, Inc. Fun Fitness is a philosophy
which encourages clients to develop a positive attitude towards
living a healthy lifestyle. Fun Fitness combines private instruction
with the education, strategy and support you need to become empowered
and achieve your personal health and fitness goals.
Jaye's biggest dream in the world came true on July 2,2004, when she
gave birth to her daughter, Summer Michelle,
weighing in at eight pounds and four ounces.
It seems like Summer takes after her mom already. "Summer
is constantly moving. She doesn't like to be still much. She rolled
over at two weeks and could stand supported at nine weeks. I joke
that she had too much boot camp, as I taught class during
my seventh and eighth month of pregnancy.
With the experience of pregnancy and motherhood, I have new respect
for exercising moms everywhere. After years of developing strategies
with my mom clients to find ways to fit exercise into busy lives
, I am experiencing first hand just how difficult finding time for
yourself can be. I've always said that it takes a good strategy,
and it's true. After a few months of trial and error, I've finally
found a schedule that seems to work for our family.
Let's face it. We live in a fast paced world, but it's important
to take time out for yourself. Put work aside and rejuvenate! Fitness
can be fun! Find activities that you enjoy, and get moving! I hope
to be a good example to anyone facing today's challenges to live
a healthy, fitness lifestyle, especially to moms everywhere,"
