Step 1: FYI

Please take a moment to review the following SMART FACTS about the Fun Fitness Boot Camp. Be sure to print a copy for yourself.

1. How do I know if I am a good candidate for Boot Camp?

Each Boot Camp class is ideal for all fitness levels and everyone in general good health.

2. I don’t have access to the Internet. Can I register by phone?

Yes. The process takes about 10 minutes. Contact Jaye at 404-378-5775.

3. What if I have minor body issues?

The human body, plus a life on earth, usually equals a glitch here and there, unless you are darn lucky (knock on wood). You might have minor muscular or skeletal issues , or occasional soreness in a particular part of the body, perhaps in the low back, knees, shin, ankle, shoulder, wrist, or elbow. I It is important to differentiate between an undiagnosed medical issue that may require a doctor's care and such minor issues. You, the owner, know your body best. It is important to listen to what it tells you. "Occasional" means exactly that. Persistent, nagging or ongoing pain signals you to take the time to seek professional medical advise and care before participating in Boot Camp. Boot Camp is an active exercise class and participating with persistent issues puts you at risk for injury and that's irresponsible. Good news for those with a MINOR issue: this class can be modified to meet your individual needs by substituting or omitting a particular exercise, or with slight changes in form, reps, or tempo. Jaye can easily make recommendations for your specific needs during a phone consultation. It is her goal to see that you have a great boot camp experience and that you complete the program remaining injury free.

4. What if my health history changes during the eight weeks of the class?

It is imperative that you notify Jaye if you health history changes at all. Whether you are in a fender-bender, twist your ankle, or are diagnosed with high blood pressure, it is your responsibility to contact Jaye with such information. Jaye wants you to remain safe and injury free during your Boot Camp experience.

5. How will I know if I am accepted and registered for class?

After you submit your online registration, Jaye will carefully review your information. She may need to contact you by phone regarding fine details, so be sure to provide your best contact numbers. You will be notified of your registration by e-mail.

6. What if I experience muscle soreness or pain during or after boot camp?

During this Boot Camp program, it is important that you communicate with Jaye by phone if you experience soreness or pain. During exercise, it is okay to feel a warming sensation or slight burning in your muscles as they fatigue. That's normal. Pain during exercise is not okay. Normal discomfort is much different from pain. Listen to your body and become familiar with these sensations and their differences. If you experience pain during class, you should stop exercising and notify Jaye. She can take a brief sidebar and make recommendations to you. Occasional, minor muscle soreness that lasts a day or two is a common byproduct of exercise. Frequent, intense muscle soreness means you've overdone it. If you experience muscle soreness that feels intense and lasts more than a day or two, you must contact Jaye by phone, not e-mail, so that she can make specific recommendations to you. She may suggest a change in exercise choice, form, reps, tempo or intensity. You should rest, recover and follow these recommendations during your next class. If you experience pain after class, it is imperative that you contact Jaye by phone, not by e-mail. During this phone conversation, she will be able to take an exact description of your experiences and make specific recommendations to you. That old saying, "No pain, no gain," does not apply to this program. Talk to Jaye. She's here to help.

7. What should I wear?

Dress in layers with the ability to remove items. You will get warm.

8. What should I bring?

Bring a mat and bottle of water.

9. What if I have to miss a class due to illness or a scheduling conflict?

Because space is limited during this indoor program, you are allowed one make-up session into another class. You do not need to notify Jaye. Use your make-up session wisely.

10. When is the registration deadline?

Each class is limited to 18 campers. There's still time to register! As a few spaces are avaliable in each class, the deadline is extended to Friday, January 9.

11. How do I pay?

Please mail your check payment. Payments must be received prior to your first day of class. Campers will not be permitted to attend class until payment has been received.

Your check will be deposited upon the close of registration, which is Friday, January 9, 2009.

Payments should be mailed to:
