• CLASSES •


BURN! Interval Program on PATH
March 26th - May 14th
8 Week Program

We're going mobile. This 90 minute interval session will travel along the PATH for a major dose of Fun Fitness.

This class format will combine jogging / running with strength-building calisthenics at stop points. Campers jog or run at their own pace for several minutes, gather back together as a group at the next check point, recover, then perform the next strength-building drill before heading off again.

Campers will learn how to incorporate the fundamentals of interval training into their routines. Class concludes with stretching.

"Food Supply Reality Check." is the focus of the 2012 BURN! program. Nutrition is a key element to our pholisophy, training strategies, and personal health.  So, each Fun Fitness program has a food-related focus.

This is not your mother's food supply!  Our food supply has changed more in the past 15 years than during any other time in history.  We'll explore ways to safely navigate the channels of our food supply, from commercial grocery stores, big-box super stores, local coops, organic "farm to food" programs, CSAs, as well as community and personal gardens. We'll also explore food safety, environmental and human health issues associated with our current food supply options.  Weekly emails bring OE (ongoing education) to you.  Learn where to shop, what to buy, and how to make delicious, easy-to-prepare meals the whole family will love.  Be well informed about healthy, holistic living! 

Participant Prerequisite: Participants of this class must be able to maintain a jogging pace for several minutes.

Ideal for intermediate and advanced fitness levels.

When: Mondays at 6:45 pm.
Class length: 90 minutes
Cost: $130 for 8 classes
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, March 21st.

Step I: Refer Two Friends and Receive FREE entry! Referrals can be made by new or returning participants. Simply refer two friends to the same program.

Step II: Register On-Line: Referral Friends and the person doing the referring can register easily online. Be sure to note Referral Program participation at the bottom of the registration form. Registration confirmations are normally issued within 72 hours of registration.

Step III: Receive Your FREE Fun Fitness credit! Once your Referral Friends have registered, are confirmed into the program with program fees received, a credit toward your program fees will be established. You'll receive free Fun Fitness credit for 8 FREE classes, a $130.00 value! You can use this credit to participate in the same Fun Fitness program.

Provisions:

Referral Friends (the friends you refer) must be first-time Fun Fitness program participants.

All Referral Program participants (Referral Friends and person doing the referring) must be confirmed into a program before your FREE credit is issued.

Credits must be used toward the same program. Referral Friends program fees must be received prior to FREE credit being issued.

"When ASFM contacted me to appear in the August issue, I saw an opportunity to inspire other women, especially mothers. We are all busy juggling a zillion responsibilities, but mothers (especially working and single) face even greater challenges. Being a good parent requires so much of our time and it's easy to fall off our own to-do list. After years of developing strategies with my mom clients to fit exercise into busy schedules, I am on a mission to tell moms everywhere that if I can do it, you can, too! I wanted the photo to show that I am more than just another toned woman in a fitness magazine. That's why I wanted my daughter Summer to accompany me. She's on the top of my list of priorities, but for an hour or so, several times a week, it's all about me," says Jaye.

Operation Lean: The 2012 Body Composition Challenge
With Body Fat Mobile Testing

2008 Fall Challenge Winner - Stephanie Milello No, not "lean" as in "Leaning Tower of Pizza." Lean, as in "Lean, Mean, Exercising Machine!"

Since 2005, Fun Fitness has held the Body Composition Challenge. Each season, participants have the opportunity to compete in the Body Composition Challenge. Hydrostatic weighing is 98% accurate. It's a tangible way to measure your hard-earned results. You'll test at the beginning and end of the program. Whoever has the most significant body composition change wins! Enjoy a complimentary future program on Fun Fitness!

The winner of the latest Fall Body Composition Challenge is Lorna McGee from Lake Claire. She dropped body fat percentage from 19.4% to 16.8%. Lorna shed 2.25 pounds of body fat and gained 3.75 pounds of lean mass. Way to go!

Institute is known worldwide for excellence in education and innovation in the integrated field of corrective exercise, high-performance conditioning and lifestyle and stress management. The C.H.E.K. approach treats the body as a whole system addressing the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well being of each individual. Using in-depth questionnaires and assessments in the areas of lifestyle habits, exercise, nutrition, sleep patterns, stress levels, and digestion, individual strategies are created to facilitate the body?s natural healing mechanisms while restoring health, wellness, and vitality.

In June 2008, Jaye had the opportunity to meet Allison Sweany, host of NBC's The Biggest Loser at The Rite Aid Health and Beauty Expo.

Dr. Chopra is a pioneer in mind/body medicine. To hear him speak was such an extraordinary delight. His wisdom and capability to share are profound. I especially like his chapter, "The Universe Thinks Through You" from his new book. As such concepts apply to goals and fitness, I often remind my clients that in order for your body and mind to receive and experience the benefits of fitness, you must first believe that what you are asking for is possible. Believe! Ask and you shall receive. The universe, in its infinite wisdom, will then bring forth the result," says Jaye.

Facilitated by nationally recognized strength coach and international lecturer Dr. Jack Barnathan (left), who has been awarded the United States Presidential Certificate of Merit.
